An unofficial timeline of the story of Arthur. Specific years, such as 1984, are not used. Instead, all events are dated by their distance from Arthur Read's 3rd grade year, and only that year is broken into months.

- Buffalo Bill and Sitting Bull pass through Elwood City.[2]
100 Years Ago
- President Theodore Roosevelt declares the lumber town founded by Jacob Katzenellenbogan an official city.[3]
87 Years Ago
- Horace P. Crane, owner of the Elwood City Grebes, takes a home run baseball from a boy, supposedly putting a "curse" on the team.[4]
75 Years Ago
- Edzel E. Crosswire, Muffy's great-grandfather, "came to these shores".[5]

- Ernest J. Cherney was stranded on an Antarctic expedition, but is soon rescued. (March 16th)[6]
