"D.W. Flips" is the second half of the sixteenth episode in the first season of Arthur. It is based on the book D.W. Flips!.

Summary

In gymnastics class, D.W. has to cope both with her own problems learning to do somersaults and cartwheels and with the antics of the class show-off.

Plot

D.W., despite having given up on all her previous hobbies, begs to be able to allowed to learn gymnastics.  But she is soon discouraged when she finds out how difficult it is, as well as being shown up by the class star.

Trivia

  • One of the judges in D.W.'s fantasy is Mr. Haney's secretary.
  • Timmy and Tommy can still be told apart, despite not having their kerchiefs in class.  Timmy is the one in the blue shorts and Tommy is wearing the red ones.
  • When Emily is talking about doing cartwheels, D.W. is the only girl in their group without a hair bow.

Errors

  • When D.W. is cartwheeling in Aisle 7 she bumps into something and the items are rolling in Aisle 8.
  • On the drive home, D.W. was sitting in the front seat. She's too young; she has to be at least 12 years old to sit in the front.
  • Tommy and Timmy were colored lighter in some scenes.
  • In one scene, Lisa was colored purple.
  • In another scene, Tommy has rabbit ears although Timmy has normal ears.
