Jingle Bells

From Arthur Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

"Jingle Bells" is track 2 of the album Arthur's Perfect Christmas. The song is a traditional Christmas carol, though on the album it is performed in a highly jazzy and lively arrangement by the kids of Nigel Ratburn's class, with various solos, both vocal and instrumental. While not featured in the Arthur's Perfect Christmas special, the opening instrumental of the song can briefly be heard on the Read family's car radio after Mrs. Read switches away from the jingle for "Tina the Talking Tabby."

Lyrics[edit]

Mr. Ratburn's class

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open slegh, hey
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open slegh

Buster

Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way, ha, ha ha!
Bells on bobtail ring, making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight

Arthur

Ladies and gentlemen, here's Binky Barnes on the clarinet.
Wow, Binky, you sound great! Keep it up, keep it up!

Brain

Very impressive, Binky!

Buster

(speaks in Spanish)
Okay, already, ya' big show-off!

Mr. Ratburn's class

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open slegh, hey
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open slegh

Binky

Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way
Bells on bobtail ring, making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight
And now, live from Elwood City, Arthur on the ivories!

Arthur

Thank you, thank you!

Brain

Excellent dexterity, Arthur.

Binky

Woo hoo! Sounding great on those 88, heh heh!

Buster

Hey, I'm gonna practice my snapping. (begins snapping his fingers)

Binky

Cool! That sounds pretty good, Buster!

Buster

Is anybody else hungry?

Buster

Scooby-dooby-dooby-da!

Mr. Ratburn's class

Sleigh!

Trivia[edit]

  • The song includes a section in which Buster practices snapping his fingers, though this album was released before Arthur's Really Rockin' Music Mix, which featured a song by Buster called "I Can't Snap My Fingers." However, this may simply indicate that chronologically Buster had learned to snap his fingers sometime before or during the holiday season.
