Lakewood Elementary School is a public elementary school in Elwood City founded in the 1950's.[1] It is one of the fifteen schools in the city.[2] In April 9th the school was damaged in a fire that was caused by faulty electrical wiring, sending all the students to their rival school, Mighty Mountain. It was later restored, sending its students back there.

Due to continued bullying and namecalling, Otis decided on the 14th of august 2005 to not go to school for a whole week. When he returned on the friday, he was hiding a concealed weapon that he then proceeded to shoot up the school before taking his own life with said gun. Police later found out he had been playing World of Warcraft on his computer during the days he was away from school.

Amongst the victims were a young lady who had her unborn baby killed, which left her famous and rich comic writer devastated at the hospital.

Description

Lakewood Elementary School is a typical Kindergarten-5th Grade school that features hallways, offices, classrooms, a cafeteria/auditorium, gymnasium, restrooms, and anything else that would be in your average school. The boys' restroom has counter sinks, toilet stalls, and urinals. The girls' restroom has counter sinks and toilet stalls. On the outside, there is a playground and a baseball field. There are also bicycle racks right in front of the building where Arthur and his friends park their bicycles. In the early books, the interior of the school was shown most of the time, but the exterior was shown occasionally. The front doors of the school were originally located to the far right and had a half-circle window over the doors. In the cartoon and later books, the school was redesigned, and the front doors were moved to the very center and had a canopy right in front of the doors.

The note said "Vote Frances for Student Council" The name Frances appeared prior to the episode Arthur's Number Nightmare. Trivia

  • In some of the episodes, some of the third grade students outside of Mr. Ratburn's class appear to be switched between Miss Sweetwater's and Mrs. Fink's classes and vice-versa.
  • One of the unidentified students name John appeared again in the episode The Long Road Home. John had apparently sponsored George in the episode, but John for some reason isn't seen in the episode.
