The Awful Plot
Summary
A new family moves to Elwood City, and their daughter, Ladonna (the worst cartoon character ever), is going to be at Lakewood Elementary. Her gift of lying gains her new friends, but she soon runs out of lies to tell, and makes one up. Her fib is caught, and the kids begin doubting if any of the other lies were true either. How can she redeem herself?
There's a new kid in town: Ladonna Compson, the Louisiana native with the gift of gab. Ladonna charms Arthur and friends with her amazing "true" stories. But are her stories really fact...or fiction?

Bad Summary
Plot
The episode begins with Ladonna and her family leaving their home in South Park for a sixteen hour car drive to Elwood City. They soon arrive and unpack their crap at their new house, which is over 9000 blocks away from where the Read Family lives. Arthur and D.W. are walking down the street to meet the Crapson Family.
Arthur tries to introduce a new friend of his, Ladonna Compson, to the viewers, but she keeps interrupting the intro. Arthur and Ladonna then decide to just start the show.

Ladonna invites them into the dump. After introducing one another Arthur then gives Ladonna a feces pie his dad made. Ladonna likes the poop and begins telling lies to both Arthur and D.W., but the two have to go to Grandma Thora's house.

After they left Bud who had been creeping said to his older sister that she would STFU and that she scared them away. Ladonna was a bit pissed that Bud had been creeping up on her. The next day at Lakewood, Mr. Haney (the retarded animators made him the wrong color) introduces the class to Ladonna.
Part 1:

At lunch the gangsters ask Ladonna questions about where she is from and what she does to get a life. Ladonna then starts telling crappy lies about her family and soon everyone starts listening to her lies. Many are unimpressed with her stories and she even went as far as telling the Tough Customers the lies. Meanwhile Bud tries to annoy D.W. with his animal sounds.
After the title card, Ladonna and her family are seen leaving their home in Louisiana for a sixteen-hour move to Elwood City. They soon arrive and unpack their things at their new house, which is a few houses away from where the Read family lives. Arthur and D.W. walk down the street to meet the Compson family.

He did a owl and then a retarded purple dinosaur. D.W. was impressed and subsequently left. Bud is feeling pissed off that D.W. didn't like the animal sounds and Ladonna lectures him it takes time to make friends. Bud then questions how Ladonna made friends and even asked if she was fooling them.
When they get there, Ladonna invites them into the house. After introducing one another, Arthur then gives Ladonna a rhubarb pie that his dad made. Ladonna likes the pie and begins to tell stories to Arthur and D.W., but the pair have to go to Grandma Thora's house. After Arthur and D.W. leave, Bud shows up, revealing that he had been spying on Ladonna and says that she talked too much and scared them away. Ladonna tells Bud that he shouldn't spy, since it's against the law, but Bud blames his toy dinosaur Rapty instead. Bud goes on to tell Ladonna that she shouldn't be herself and act less "Ladonna-ish".

His sister tells him that his new friends liked her lies then Bud asks what will happen when she runs out of lies. Ladonna later that night has a nightmare about what Bud had said to her. She no longer had lies to tell them and was soon no longer invited to hangout with them. Ladonna awakens and soon starts making up new stories lies.
The next day at Lakewood Elementary, Mr. Haney introduces Mr. Ratburn's class to Ladonna, their new classmate. Ladonna is nervous until she sees Arthur inviting her over to sit next to him. At lunch in the cafeteria, Arthur and his pals ask Ladonna questions about where she is from and what she does. Ladonna tells them a story about when her older brother Gussie was working at an alligator sanctuary one summer, until Mr. Ratburn calls the class back for history.
The next day at the playground at school Ladonna is telling lies, but this time Arthur and Buster have heard of the lies before. Soon Arthur and Buster start talking about Dark Bunny and Ladonna feels pissed and a bit so alone that she is a big old pile of bones. She soon starts to leave and her friends ask where she is going and which she replies she is going to get her meth spoon.

Later on at night Ladonna is sleeping and she soon dreams about what happens when she no longer has any interesting lies to her new friends. She then wakes up and starts writing down made up stories to tell her friends.
Over the next week, everyone starts listening to her stories. Many are impressed with her stories and she even went as far as telling the Tough Customers her stories.

The next day at school in the cafeteria she starts to tell her "new" made up lies and soon her friends start to question her new lies. Soon she admits that she fibbed the lie. Soon most of her new friends leave her as she should of told them the truth.
Meanwhile, Bud tries to impress D.W. with his animal sounds, doing a pig sound and a whale sound. D.W. isn't impressed and subsequently leaves. Bud feels upset that D.W. didn't like his animal sounds, claiming that she said his pig sound was "too oinky". Ladonna tells him that it takes time to make friends. Bud then questions how Ladonna made friends, and even asks if she is paying them. Ladonna tells him that her new friends like her partially because she tells great stories. Bud then asks what will happen to her if she runs out of stories to tell, and Ladonna claims that the Atlantic Ocean will dry up before she runs out of stories.

Soon Arthur wants to give her a second chance, which Francine and Muffy disagree with the idea. Soon both Arthur and Buster move back to the table with Ladonna. They tell her that they hate her just the way she is and to be herself.
The next day at the playground at school, Ladonna is telling stories, but this time Arthur and Buster have heard of her stories before. Soon, Arthur and Buster start talking about an episode of Dark Bunny that they saw the night before, and Ladonna feels sad and left out. She soon starts to leave, but her friends ask her where she is going, to which she replies she is going to get her mittens. Arthur and Buster look at each other concerned.

Meanwhile D.W. and Emily are having a "Meth party" with Bud. Bud isn't sure how to smoke and instead changes the pretend meth to weed soup. D.W. tells Bud that they are playing a meth party not weed and Bud asks why not. Soon after playing Bud thinks D.W. hates him. Soon Rapty (Bud's schizophrenic imaginary friend) talks to him and Bud decides to try telling dirty jokes to D.W. to impress her.
Later that night, Ladonna is sleeping and she soon dreams about what may happen if she no longer has any interesting stories to tell her new friends. She then wakes up and starts writing down a made-up story to tell her friends.

The next day Ladonna is going to explore and her mom makes her wear a joker hat her aunt made that she states is shitty. As Ladonna is walking she sees an golden eagle who is about prey upon Ladonna because she is a retarded rabbit and pulls out her cellphone to take a picture of it, but she ends up missing it because she is afraid that the golden eagle will eat her.
The next day at school in the cafeteria, Ladonna starts to tell her "new" made-up story to her friends. After Brain corrects a flaw with her story, some of the others start to question it, as she didn't tell them in advance that her story was made-up in the first place. Eventually, Ladonna admits that she fibbed the story, and most of her new friends abandon her.

She turns to get her shitty hat that she threw to the ground after it kept falling over her head, but discovered to see a troll had taken it. She chased the troll, but tripped on a tree branch and soon discovered a pipe buried in the snow.
Part 2:

She returns the pipe to the owner (who smokes it) who in turn gives her four leaves of weed for returning a pipe that was missing for over 9000 years, which was a little bit depressing to Ladonna. She decides to get cocaine from a vending machine and soon she receives a lot of rock from the vending machine much to her excitement.
The next day at school in the cafeteria, Arthur wants to give Ladonna a second chance, but Francine and Muffy disagree with his idea. Arthur and Buster decide to give her another chance, and move over to the table where Ladonna is sitting. They tell her that they like her just the way she is and to just be herself. Arthur, Buster, and Ladonna are once again friends.

As she is walking along she sees a fucked up hat almost identical to the one that the troll had stolen from her earlier in the day. She then uses the rock she got from the vending machine to buy it. Ladonna then lies to everyone about what happened the previous day, but her friends don't believe her and she tells Arthur she will prove it was a lie to him after school.
Meanwhile, D.W. and Emily are having a tea party with Bud, but instead, he changes the pretend tea to tomato soup. D.W. tells Bud that they're playing tea party, not lunch. Afterwards, Bud thinks that D.W. doesn't like him. His toy dinosaur Rapty talks to him, and Bud decides to try telling jokes to D.W. to impress her.

Meanwhile Bud is telling a dirty joke to D.W. as they are building a snowman. D.W. noticed the marijuana leaf was missing and Bud admits that he toked it and he replaces the marijuana for a cigar much to D.W.'s displeasure. Then the Tibble Twins threw a giant snowball at the snowman they were building decapitating the head and the twins start trolololing at the mayhem they caused.
Later, Ladonna is going to go exploring, and her mom makes her wear a hat that her Aunt Bo bought that Ladonna states is itchy and ugly. As Ladonna is exploring, she sees an eagle and pulls out her cellphone to take a picture of it, but she ends up missing it. She turns to get her hat that she threw to the ground after it kept slipping over her head, but discovers to see that a raccoon took it. Annoyed, Ladonna chases the raccoon to get her hat back, but she trips on a tree root instead. However, she finds a lost gold watch in the snow, and decides to return it.

Bud then fights the Tibbles despite D.W. warnings to him that those were Tibbles. Bud demands them to put the head of the snowman back and the Tibbles questioned what he was going to do about. Bud then finished them by ripping off his face blowing fire from his skull.
Ladonna returns the watch to its owner, who in turn gives her four quarters. Ladonna, annoyed at the fact she only got four quarters for returning a watch that was lost for seven years, decides to get juice from a vending machine and receives a lot of change from the vending machine, much to her excitement. As Ladonna is walking along with the change from the vending machine in her pockets, she sees a hat almost identical to the one that the raccoon had stolen from her earlier in the day in Care to Ware, and decides to buy it with the change from the vending machine.

The fatality proved to be very effective and the Tibbles died, which was very impressive to D.W. and soon the two friends resumed building the snowman. Meanwhile both Arthur and Ladonna were looking to find proof to Ladonna's lie by going places that Ladonna visited.
The next day at school, Ladonna tells everyone about what happened to her the previous day, but her friends don't believe her. Ladonna tells Arthur she will prove it to him after school.

Soon Ladonna realized that there was no way she was going to ever prove her lie was accurate, but Arthur tells her that she doesn't believe her since she went through all the trouble to prove it to be a lie him. Just as they are leaving Arthur spots the troll wearing Ladonna's old shitty hat.
Meanwhile, Bud is telling a joke to D.W. as they are building a snowman. D.W. notices that the carrot is missing, and wants to know what happened to it. Bud admits that he ate it, and he replaces the carrot nose for a rock, much to D.W.'s displeasure. Then Tommy and Timmy Tibble throw a snowball at the snowman they were building and knocked the head off, after which the twins start chortling. Bud then confronts the Tibbles, despite D.W.'s warning to him. The Tibbles are scared of Bud, and run off after he gives them the "Bud Compson Power Stare". D.W. is impressed by his staring, and the two become friends.

Back at Lakewood she tells everyone about the lie and shows them the shitty hat too. She gives the shitty hat to Francine who hates the hat and Muffy bashes Ladonna for not giving it to her and states she really is a good liar and a bitch. Ladonna is says "Fuck it!" And lives the school and gets hit by a car. THE END
After school, both Arthur and Ladonna look to find proof to Ladonna's story by going to the various places that Ladonna visited, but after not finding proof, Ladonna is very disappointed that she can't prove that her story is true, but Arthur believes that it all happened, making Ladonna happy. As they are about to go back home, Arthur spots the raccoon wearing Ladonna's old hat.

Afterwards, Ladonna tries to wrap up the show, but Arthur outsmarts her and wraps up the show. Ladonna then is about to tell another story, but Arthur stops her, and she runs off, saying "The End!" to the viewers. The episode then ends.

"Based on a True Story" is the first episode in the sixteenth season of Arthur. It is a two-part episode.

Summary[edit]

There's a new kid in town: Ladonna Compson, the Louisiana native with the gift of gab. Ladonna charms Arthur and friends with her amazing "true" stories. But are her stories really fact...or fiction?

Plot[edit]

Arthur tries to introduce a new friend of his, Ladonna Compson, to the viewers, but she keeps interrupting the intro. Arthur and Ladonna then decide to just start the show.

Based on a True Story

Part 1:

After the title card, Ladonna and her family are seen leaving their home in Louisiana for a sixteen-hour move to Elwood City. They soon arrive and unpack their things at their new house, which is a few houses away from where the Read family lives. Arthur and D.W. walk down the street to meet the Compson family.

Over the next week, everyone starts listening to her stories. Many are impressed with her stories and she even went as far as telling the Tough Customers her stories.
