"Double Tibble Trouble" is the first half of the eleventh episode in the third season of Arthur.
Summary[edit]
Tommy Tibble is sad and less active because Timmy is sick. Although D.W. and Emily would like to have the Tibbles less hyperactive, they try to help Tommy out by playing like a Tibble.
Plot[edit]
In the beginning of the episode, D.W. and her friend Emily put on an array of protective gear because they have to go to the Tibbles' house for a play date. When they arrive at their mansion, the Tibbles open the door and shout into the girls' faces. Later, the Tibbles are playing rough, much to D.W. and Emily's shock and despair. That night, D.W. made a wish on a star which was really a helicopter to her dismay. The next day, D.W. and Emily saw Tommy without Timmy. Then they heard that Timmy is sick. Later, Tommy visited Timmy to bring him a get-well card from him and his classmates. Later as D.W. and Emily came over, they took off their protective gear because they were safe. Later, D.W., Emily, and Jane brought Tommy to the carnival to cheer him up, but it didn't work. So D.W. and Emily took turns being Tibbles for a day. A few days later, D.W. and Emily safely decide to quit. At the Tibbles' house, they were surprised to see Timmy at the door. Timmy explained he's better and that Tommy caught his sickness. He also thanked them for filling in for them and asked them if one of them wants to play biplane with him. D.W. volunteers, and the episode ends.

Trivia[edit]
- Beginning in spring 2024, as part of a partnership with Bridge Multimedia, as well as funding provided by the US Department of Education (US-DOE), this and a few other popular episodes of the Arthur series were rereleased with the addition of an American Sign Language interpreter on screen, allowing individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing to fully immerse themselves in the program. Interpretation was also provided to a variety of other popular Arthur episodes, the full list can be viewed here.
- 4th Wall Break: D.W. says that the Tibbles are "like different animals" compared to herself and Emily. They are literally different animals than the girls, as D.W. is an aardvark and Emily is a rabbit/monkey hybrid, while the Tibbles are bears.
- Moral: If someone is sick, don't laugh for your own benefits.
- Karma: D.W. and Emily laughed at the tibbles, so they got to do want they want.
Episode connections[edit]
- D.W. mentions that she is losing her voice. She loses her voice for real in "For Whom the Bell Tolls."
Errors[edit]
- Before Tommy throws the cupcake, D.W. and Emily wear "protection," but after Tommy throws it, D.W. and Emily wear nothing to protect themselves.
- When Tommy looks at the cupcake, his face is off-center.
Cultural references[edit]
- D.W.'s line “Thank you for flying DWA” refers to TWA (Trans World Airlines).
