D.W. All Wet is an Arthur book. The events of the title were later adapted for a TV story by the same name.

Summary[edit]

The Read family is having a day at the beach, but D.W. isn't eager to get in the water. She does her own thing, until Arthur says that he's going for a walk. D.W. insists on coming along and, to her surprise, finds that Arthur is taking her to the water. When she actually ends up in the water, she protests that she can't swim, but Arthur tells her that she doesn't have to. It's the shallow water, and D.W. quickly takes to it. She is soon dipping, floating, flipping, flopping, squirting, splashing and dunking. When it's time to go at the end of the day, she says they should come back tomorrow.

Trivia[edit]

  • The book is dedicated "For Brenda Gardner, with warm scones and hot tea."
