Bud Robert Read is Arthur's uncle. He is the husband of Loretta and is the father of three children: Monique, Ricky, and an unnamed girl.
He was first mentioned in the book Arthur's Birthday when he sent three dollar bills for Arthur's birthday, but did not attend the party. He became a character in the cartoon and only appeared in "Arthur's Cousin Catastrophe". He was also shown during a flashback in "The Half-Baked Sale". His middle name happens to be "Fun".
He is really into cameras and enjoys using a "real dandy" camera known as the Supernova Solar Flash, which can X-ray people once the picture is taken, and was often seen taping the events using a large camcorder.
Personality[edit]
Uncle Bud's personality seems to reflect his name. He's shown to be upbeat, outgoing and fun-loving (and also claims that “fun” is his middle name, and he “doesn’t need a list to have it”). He seems to be quite charismatic as well, albeit a bit rude (throwing Arthur's list).
Physical appearance[edit]
Bud is an aardvark who is depicted with a pale complexion, brown hair on the sides, a brown mustache, and wears a light blue shirt, brown pants with a belt buckle, pale red shoes, and two watches.
