Plot
Ms. Morgan gathers D.W. and her preschool class, informing them that it is Friday, which means it is time for the… "Good Behavior Award!" the children cheer excitedly. Ms. Morgan announces that one child has demonstrated extraordinary behavior this week and will receive a reward. Timmy and Tommy, giggling, make a loud squelching noise. Ms. Morgan reprimands them for their disruptive behavior, informing them to behave. The Tibbles point at each other, blaming the other for the misbehavior. D.W. and Emily join in, reprimanding the Tibbles. Ms. Morgan announces that the winner will have their picture displayed on the bulletin board and receive a chocolate cupcake. Timmy and Tommy express their excitement, with Tommy anticipating a chocolate cupcake. Timmy, however, has a surprise in store. He pulls out a slingshot and a toy rocket. Ms. Morgan reveals the winner by peeling off a question mark from the bulletin board, uncovering D.W.'s picture. D.W. is astonished. The class applauds as she steps forward to claim her cupcake. Just as she is about to eat it, Timmy and Tommy launch the rocket at the ceiling. The rocket bounces off, slightly missing Liam, ripping D.W.'s picture, and ruining her cupcake, knocking it out of her hand. Ms. Morgan scowls at them, and the Tibbles point at each other, saying "He did it!" D.W. exclaims, "Tibbles!"
Emily soothes D.W. after the cupcake incident, promising her that she'll get another one. Behind them, Ms. Morgan reprimands the Tibbles for their earlier actions, which hurt D.W.'s feelings. As punishment, she gives them both a timeout to reflect on their behavior and informs them that she can't let them sit together in the quiet area, and asks who volunteers to go first. The Tibbles point at each other, and Timmy suggests to Tommy that they both raise their hands to potentially get a cupcake. Only Tommy raises his hand, and he later serves his timeout in the quiet area while the other children play. Ms. Morgan informs Tommy that his timeout is over and calls Timmy to take his turn in the quiet area. In a mischievous trick, Timmy alerts Ms. Morgan that there is something behind her, prompting her and the other children to turn around. While they are distracted, Timmy stealthily swaps scarves with Tommy. Unaware of the switch, Ms. Morgan extends Timmy's timeout by two minutes as a consequence for the prank. She later discovers that Tommy had already finished his timeout and should have been taking his turn, not realizing that it was actually Tommy wearing Timmy's scarf.
Later that night, as the Tibbles were getting ready for bed, Timmy explained that they always switched scarves during timeouts, making it more fun. Tommy suggested that Timmy should be the one to get the timeouts, but Timmy insisted that Tommy was better at it. Tommy was both surprised and grateful. As they turned off the lights, Tommy thanked Timmy for the fun day, and they went to sleep. Just then, Tommy woke up and realized something. In the hallway, Mrs. Tibble heard noises of a disturbance coming from the Tibbles’ bedroom. When she entered, she found Tommy hitting Timmy with a teddy bear. Both boys blamed each other for starting the fight. Tommy realized his mistake when he saw he was still holding the teddy bear.
The next day at school, The following day, on the preschool playground, the Tibbles were playing in the sandbox. Timmy complimented Tommy on his capacity to get a timeout from Grandma, better than at school. Tommy looked upset. Behind them, D.W. sat on a swing with her replacement cupcake, and Emily stood beside her. Emily offered D.W. the cupcake. Timmy then decided to destroy the sandcastle, stomping on it. Tommy approaches D.W. and Emily and asks them to teach him to be good. At first the two girls take it as a joke and laugh, but then think about what it would be like if the Tibbles were good. With that thought, Emily and D.W. make a bet that if D.W. can make Tommy good, Emily will do all of D.W.'s snack time clean ups for a month.
D.W. gives Tommy a task, if he does it right he gets Gummy Slugs. One morning when Timmy wakes and doesn't find Tommy in bed, he heads downstairs and sprays the kitchen with a water gun, but ends up spraying his grandmother. After cleaning up the mess, Timmy heads over to D.W.'s house to find Tommy getting a Gummy Slug, then starts chasing him through the house.
Eventually, D.W. gives up on teaching Tommy to be good, but then Tommy grabs D.W., then quickly lets go of her and apologizes. All of the students are surprised by this, and D.W. chooses to give Tommy another chance. After lots of teaching, Tommy learns to behave like a good child.
On Parent-Visiting day, D.W. thinks that if Tommy can get one parent to say, "What a well-behaved boy!" he will succeed, and officially be a good person. During the day, Tommy does good things such as giving Ms. Morgan a watermelon (which is much bigger than an apple), picking up the splattered watermelon after Timmy pushes it off the desk on purpose, pouring punch for people, complementing people's clothing, taking blame for smearing paint on the blackboard (even though Timmy did it), and opposing to fight Timmy when he tries to pick a fight. Then Mrs. Terracini (Sara's grandmother) says, "What a well behaved boy!" and pulls on Tommy's cheek.
On the day of the Good Behavior Awards, Tommy wins a vanilla cupcake. This angers Tommy, as he dislikes vanilla cupcakes, and wants a chocolate one instead. He takes the cupcake, throws it on the ground, and stomps on it angrily. Following this, Timmy cheerfully shouts "He's back!" Outside D.W. and Emily are building a sand castle. Tommy asks the girls if he and Timmy can destroy it. He then lets Timmy destroy it first. The episode ends with the twins running off laughing, and D.W. and Emily saying "Tibbles" in unison.
