Appearances

Artie is a toy bear that appeared only in the episode Arthur's Dummy Disaster. George Lundgren's art assignment Wally drew (pun not intended) attention to George, who constantly performed with Wally outside of Art Class and usually continues to do so in other episodes. The rest of the class was inspired to create even more marionettes. Arthur's version was one of his teddy bears: Artie.

Arthur had "performed" with Artie as often as George performed with Wally. This includes during dinner in the family dining room. After suggesting that there should be dessert served first instead of last, David Read decided it is better to put Artie away during dinner. "Artie" continued to protest. Near bedtime, Arthur decided it was better for Artie to pet Pal instead. Pal decided to eventually bury Artie in the middle of the night. The next morning, Arthur blamed D.W., who had previously mocked him for sleeping with Stanley while in the third grade in D.W.'s Imaginary Friend, and again in D.W.'s Blankie. However, Arthur stopped blaming D.W. when he discovered Pal covered in mud.

The other marionettes eventually wore out and most of them were discarded.

Artie is not Stanley. Stanley can be seen on the shelf above Arthur's bed in this episode. Arthur is holding Artie in this scene while Stanley is still on the shelf.
