Arthur's Valentine is the third book in the Arthur Adventure series. It was first published in 1980 by Little, Brown and Company, and it was re-published in 1987 with a re-illustrated cover, even though the page illustrations were recycled from from the original publication. The republished edition also featured a headshot of Sue Ellen on the back cover.
Trivia[edit]
- This is the first appearance of Sue Ellen, the new girl at Lakewood Elementary School. We also see the tree house for the first time in this book.
- Fern Walters who was a background character in her debut in Arthur's Eyes, gets her name for the first time and finally recognized as an official character.
- This book was never adapted into an episode for the TV series, but the events leading up to Valentine's Day are seen in "The Long, Dull Winter."
