Elwood City Preschool is the school D.W. and her classmates attend. All of the students are taught by the school's only teacher, Miss Morgan. Almost all of D.W.'s friends go to this preschool, such as Emily, James, the Tibble Twins, and Bud, and most of Arthur's friends used to go to this school (as seen in flashbacks.) The preschool also serves as a daycare institution. While most of the kids currently seen are between the ages of four and five it was revealed that their are also three year olds that attend the preschool with Vicita currently being the only known three year old.

In the episode "Double Tibble Trouble," two names most likely belonging to two of the unnamed preschoolers are seen in Timmy's get-well card. Another unidentified student is seen in the book D.W.'s Guide to Preschool.

- Unlike Lakewood nearly all, but two children are named at the preschool. This is because there are fewer children attending it even though there are three year old kids that attend the preschool as well according to what was said in the episode Blockheads.
- This is so far the only preschool seen in the entire series.
- A good overview of the school was revealed in the book D.W.'s Guide to Preschool (paperback D.W. Goes to Preschool), but also included some extra elements not seen in the television series.
- It was revealed in the episode Blockheads that the preschool has different classes for different age groups, example being a class for 3 year olds. D.W., Emily, the Tibble Twins, and others probally are in the 5 year old class.
- Miss Morgan is the only known teacher at the school.
