"Just the Ticket" is the second half of the fourth episode in the seventeenth season of Arthur.
Summary[edit]
Arthur's ecstatic when he wins free concert tickets on the radio. They are even in the front-row! Problem is, he can only take one friend. Let the pestering begin![4]
Plot[edit]
Arthur complains that he feels like he never wins anything. He answers the phone and wins Static Airwaves concert tickets, and then tells the viewers that winning is even worse than not winning.
Arthur tells his friends (Muffy, Francine, Buster, Brain, Binky, Sue Ellen, and George) about the tickets, and they all come to Arthur's house to wait for the delivery. When the package arrives, there are only two tickets inside. Arthur calls the radio station who respond that they made a mistake and he is lucky to get even two tickets for the concert. Muffy asks who Arthur will take to the concert, and Buster says that they should leave Arthur alone, expecting Arthur to take him.
Arthur then receives a call from Francine, reminding him that she introduced the class to Static Airwaves back in kindergarten. After even more calls, Arthur asks his mother to not answer the phone. At dinner, the family wears headphones to block out the constant phone calls.
Arthur goes to the library. Muffy, having sent Bailey to follow him, visits the library as well. Arthur's friends have all arrived at the library, and Arthur runs out in panic, deciding to give the tickets to Binky (whom is waiting outside). He finds that he has lost the tickets, and is relieved.
Arthur sends an email to his friends, writing that whoever finds the tickets can keep them. When he arrives at school, everyone is mad at him, believing that he lied and wants to keep the tickets for himself. Binky frisks him and confirms that he does not have the tickets, only to reach for Arthur's book. Arthur protests, saying that he has nothing to hide, until the tickets slide out of the book.
Arthur tries giving his concert tickets to D.W., who declines. He tapes the tickets to a post with a note reading to take them, only for the wind to blow the tickets onto his shirt. Arthur puts them on a tree stump and weighs them down with a rock, only to go home and be informed by D.W. that Bailey brought the tickets to the house. He opens the door to see all his friends, who apologize and say that Arthur should go by himself.
With D.W.'s suggestion of picking straws, Arthur attends the concert with George. However, due to the seats being in the front row, they are unable to see the band. Arthur says that he "never really wins anything," and he and George cheer anyways.
