Watermelon is a fruit that Arthur likes. When on a family picnic, Arthur had a slice of watermelon, and D.W. copied him by having her own slice instead of a banana-and-peanut butter sandwich.
When Buster was in charge of delivering the mail for the school, he accidentally forgot to deliver the order for watermelon on time. Fortunately, he submitted the form on time once he had gotten the hang of being a mail carrier.
Buster imagined a watermelon was complaining to him for not taking care of the Community Gardens as well as Fritz Langley did.
