Season 5 of Arthur premiered in the United States on September 25, 2000[1][2] on PBS starting with "Arthur and the Big Riddle" and ending on November 27, 2000 with "Muffy Gets Mature". The TV special "Arthur's Perfect Christmas" premiered alongside this season, with its debut on November 23, 2000.
Production
This was the last season with Michael Yarmush as the voice of Arthur, due to his voice maturing shortly after Season 4 finished airing. Sound effects of Yarmush's yelps and screams from Season 1 were used for Arthur due to Yarmush's noticeably deeper voice in this season. It was also Steven Crowder's first season as Brain.
"Arthur's New Friend" was released around this time, but is not considered part of the season.
This is also the last season to use the original color palettes on the characters.
