"The Chips are Down" is the first half of the 5th episode of season 3. It originally aired on November 2nd, 1998.
Summary
Arthur and Buster are sorting potato chips and they find a big green one. D.W. eats the chip, so Arthur and Buster trick her into thinking it's poisonous. Binky eats one, too, and the both of them make the best out of the last days of their lives.

Trivia
Arthur tricks D.W into thinking that green potato chips are poisonous, but in reality, if you eat alot of green potatoes, you can get really sick. :)
Notes
- In the end there is a male rat walking with Prunella's mother Wanda as they all leave, although it is unknown to whether or not he is Prunella and Rubella's father and Wanda's husband.
- Two chips that Arthur and Buster find are shaped like Mr. Ratburn and Francine.
