"D.W.'s Blankie"

Stanley , briefly Chico[1] [named by Vicita]) is Arthur's teddy bear. His grandmother gave it to him on his third birthday (seen in a flashback.) Arthur once let D.W. borrow him when her Blankie was missing.

Desperately Seeking Stanley

Arthur finally gives him up in a garage sale to Vicita. She decides to name him Chico but later on, she trades him for a sticker to the Tibbles. Arthur worries, thinking the Tibbles would destroy him. He discovers that the Tibbles gave it to their Grandmother, and she patched him up. Arthur tells her she can keep it, but then he runs back and reclaims him saying "Actually, I think I'll keep him for this weekend." Arthur states that he will keep onto the bear for only the weekend, however in season 21 episode 3 part 1 (Francine and the soccer spy, time 4:09) Francine tells the group, "don't tell these secrets to anyone", she then proceeds onto telling each member an example and when she comes to Arthur she states "not even your teddy bear". arthur then wiggles his glasses saying "I don't have a teddy bear", since he wiggled his glasses, as D.W mentioned before when Arthur wiggles his glasses he is lying. this means Arthur was lying about this and he actually has a teddy bear in his possession. arthur could not have got another teddy bear because the maker of that episode could not have made it so Francine would know about this without actually showing the new bear. this means in fact that Arthur did not return Stanley and kept it.

Trivia

  • Stanley has been owned by Arthur since he was 3.
  • Although Stanley is not imaginary, Arthur viewed him as an imaginary friend.[2] This is depicted in a flashback to Arthur's fifth birthday.[3]
