P.A.W.S. (or Parents Against Weird Stories) was a parent group founded by Mr. and Mrs. Crosswire in the episode The Scare-Your-Pants-Off Club!. Their goal was to ban scary and/or weird books such as all The Scare Your Pants Off Club books from the library to protect kids, believing that Muffy got nightmares from reading only one of the books. They held a "big rally" at the library for all the concerned parents, where Arthur and his friends brought them a petition to bring the books back. While he ignored the petition, Mr. Crosswire was surprised when he discovered that the Scare-Your-Pants-Off author "E.A.
