Maria is a 3rd grader in Mr. Ratburn's class at Lakewood Elementary, and one of the many background characters in the series. She sits with Brain, Fern, and Muffy in Mr. Ratburn's class and most likely hangs out with them along with the other main characters, but is seen with Alex most of the time. As of now it is not known if she will ever get a speaking role or become a major character. She has a brother named Steve that is seen throughout the series, but unlike her, Steve has had a speaking role.
Appearance
Maria is a rabbit with a tan complexion and has brown hair that resembles D.W.'s. She wears a teal dress and a dark blue and pink striped shirt and wears brown boots.
In the summer she wears a pink and light blue colored dress and the same brown shoes. In "Desk Wars" she wears a light blue and pink colored swimsuit while swimming at Muffy's mansion.
When sleeping, Maria wears pajamas which were seen in "The World of Tomorrow".
