Ken Scarborough is a writer on Arthur. He was also a story editor for numerous episodes of the program.

Since the early 1990s, Scarborough has written for numerous popular children's television series, including Between the Lions and Martha Speaks on PBS Kids, as well as Doug and its movie Doug's 1st Movie. He also wrote a number of segments for the wildly popular NBC late night comedy sketch series Saturday Night Live.

Scarborough most recently wrote the pilot episode for If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, an Amazon Original program based on the popular books by Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond, which later received a second special, If You Give a Mouse a Christmas Cookie. Scarborough also serves as a developer on the program.[1]

The name of the character Sam Scarborough is an apparent nod to him.
