Grandma Thora finds Killer on her couch and sees the name on the collar.

Grandma Thora : Killer. Hm. That’s a mighty tough name for such a cute little thing.

Pal tells Kate and Amigo about his first encounter with Killer.

Pal: And then the Beast came at me, its giant jaws snapping, but I used the old tuck and roll…   He demonstrates.   …escaping just in time. Then Arthur came in.

Kate: Hh!

Pal: I, of course, ran to his defense, but when my back was turned, the beast struck…

Kate+Amigo: Hh!

Pal: … wounding me mercilessly. I dragged myself – hng, hng – to Arthur’s side and collapsed, hoping that my useless body might somehow shield my master from harm.

Kate: Poor Pal. Where did the dog bite you?

Pal: Left leg. I think I saw bone.

Kate: I can’t see anything

Pal: Oh. Must have healed.

Amigo: Buenos dias. Welcome to the neighborhood.

(Killer barks and bites Amigo's leg)

Amigo: (speaking Spanish) You (inaudible) monster!

(in front of the Molina family's house)

Dad: We're so sorry, Ramón. I'm glad Amigo's okay, but if there's anything you need, just let me know.

(he and his mother leave)

Dad: You've had the signs up for a week, Mom.

Pal and Amigo are standing on opposite sides of the garden fence and tugging on a bone.

Pal: I’m telling you, Amigo, this is my bone. I distinctly remember burying it.

Amigo: Then how did it get in my yard? This bone is mine.     Killer comes by on Grandma Thora’s leash.

Killer: Hey, guys. I’m back.

Pal: Hh! This is it, old friend. The last stand.    He let’s go off the bone. Amigo falls on his back.

Amigo: spits out bone: Phh!    He walks up to Killer.    So! You have the nerve to come back after what you did to my paw?

Pal: And my leg.

Killer: Oh yeah. I’m really sorry about that, but things will be different now. You see, I never really had a home before, but now…

Amigo: Don’t waste your breath. We don’t talk to biters.    He and Pal walk away.

Killer: I’m not a biter. I mean, not really. Oh, come on. I said I was sorry.

Pal and Kate are playing in the sandbox. Killer comes with a ball.

Killer: E-hm. Excuse me. I have brought you something. Someone left it at the dog run.    She pushes the ball towards Kate.

Kate: Oh what a pretty ball.

Pal: Stand back, Kate. It’s a trap.    He pushes the ball back.

Killer: It isn’t a trap. I’m not getting much use out of it, so I thought you and Amigo might want it.

Pal: We have our own toys, thank you very much. Good day to you, madam.

Killer: (sighs)  Well, I’ll leave it here in case you change your mind.     She leaves.

Kate: Pal, maybe you should give Killer a second chance. She really is trying to be nice.

Pal: Kate, we pets have a saying: “You can’t teach an old person new tricks”. Well, the same applies to dogs. If I were her, I’d leave this neighborhood. She’ll never fit in.    Killer hears him from the other side of the fence.

Nemo climbs a tree to get at a bird.

Nemo: Come to Nemo, my feathery bonbon. Just a little bit closer.   He pounces, the bird flies away.    Stupid wings! They take all the fun out of hunting.
