Emily Swallows a Horse is the second half of the 8th episode of Season 9. It first aired on April 6th, 2005 with "The "A" Team." It was written by Melissa Kirsch and the storyboards were done by Stefanie Gignac.

Summary

D.W. finds a ball, drops it, and finds Emily holding it. Emily tries to make up an excuse to keep the ball instead of D.W. She lies but it keeps getting bigger as she tells more lies, such as when she said Marie-Helene had a terrible disease called halitosis. She has a dream, tells Marie-Helene, and tells D.W.

Plot

Emily lies about the ball

Emily finds a ball that D.W. coincidentally wants. Emily says that the belongs to her, and that it is from France, given to her by her nanny. D.W. decides to ask her nanny about it after school. Emily leaves school without having to reason with D.W. Later on, D.W. appears at her house with the Tibbles. Emily answers the door and informs her friends that they cannot enter because her nanny is sick with Halitosis. Emily has to make up more and more lies to cover up her first lie about the insignificant ball. In the end, Emily confesses to her parents first then to her classmates.

Trivia

  • The song Ms Tuner was singing with her preschoolers is a nursery song called There Was an Old Lady.
  • The title card features Buster meaning Marc Brown was orgiinaly planning for her to be his sibling.
