After 27 years of absence, he was brought back, and was completely redesigned and no longer wears glasses, but still wears a suit and tie as alternate clothing.

He was mentioned in "Phony Fern," when Muffy says he is coming home this weekend, and that turns out to be the next episode, "Matchmaker, Match Breaker," his major appearance.
