Hello there. I am a major fan of Arthur. I have seen every episode at least once and the vast majority several times. I was born just a couple years before the series premiere, so I was practically raised on this show. The original seasons are the best, of course. Seasons 5 and 7 are my favorites. I also really enjoy Season 15.

Favorite Characters

Of course, I like Arthur as the main character, and D.W. and Buster provide comedy here and there, but there are others I think have had great character development and some interesting stories:

• Muffy: Strong character from the very beginning. Spoiled rotten yet mature. Her relationships with other characters are often very strong as well (i.e. Bailey, Francine, etc.) Voice actress consistency is also great.
• George: I love seeing his progression from being the shy kid to getting out of his shell a bit. I think it is perfect that the writers let him befriend Carl.
• James: The random background character who is slowly gaining some air time in the show. I love the stories the writers put him in. Night of the Tibble is actually one of my favorite episodes of the later seasons.
• Bailey: Another somewhat minor character slowing gaining air time and character. His relationship with Muffy is great, and I love the little humorous bits with him in the show.
• Bitzi: An average over-protective mother, yes. But she's also a strong woman who has it together pretty well for being a single mother and holding a pretty decent job at the local paper. Very sweet too.
• Mrs. MacGrady: It's great to see an older person being a positive influence on the Lakewood kids. Wish she would be featured more often.

Favorite Episodes

Here is my attempt at listing my top three episodes per season. (BTW, if you are new to the series, or just want to catch up on past seasons, these would also be my recommendations. Since I have seen the entire series, I have some decent perspective on each episode.)

1. Season 1 : It's very hard to pick just 3 out of 60. These are the classics-- the originals-- the standards, after all.

   4. Honorable mentions- Arthur's Cousin Catastrophe - D.W.'s Snow Mystery - Poor Muffy
2. Season 2 : Another superb season.

3. Season 3 : Great season.
   1. Arthur's Almost Live Not Real Music Festival (How can you not like this one?)
   2. Buster's Growing Grudge ("He stole my joke!!" ;)
   3. The Chips are Down
   4. Honorable mentions- The Ballad of Buster Baxter - Revenge of the Chip (essentially part two to The Chips are Down)
4. Season 4 : This is a pretty great season; several episodes just missed the cut for top 3.

   3. Arthur's Big Hit
5. Season 5 : This is my one of my favorite seasons along with Season 7; essentially any episode could have been top 3.
   1. Nerves of Steal
   2. Arthur's Family Feud

6. Season 6 :
   1. Sue Ellen Gets Her Goose Cooked
   2. Best of the Nest
   3. The Secret Life of Dogs and Babies (I voted for this episode during the PBS Kids "Vote-a-rama")
7. Season 7 : Elwood City Turns 100! - April 9th - Francine's Split Decision
   • This is my one of my favorite seasons along with Season 5; essentially any episode could have been top 3.
8. Season 8 : Desk Wars - Arthur's Snow Biz - Kiss and Tell
   • Around this season is when I feel Arthur starts to head downhill; still some good episodes though.
9. Season 9 : The Law of the Jungle Gym - Emily Swallows a Horse - Three's a Crowd
10. Season 10 : Flaw and Order - Do You Speak George? - The Squirrels
11. Season 11 : Brain's Shocking Secret - Phony Fern
    • Bad season IMO; couldn't pick any other episode worthy of being in top 3 :P
12. Season 12 : The Frensky Family Fiasco - Matchmaker, Match Breaker - Is That Kosher?
13. Season 13 : When Carl Met George - The Pride of Lakewood - The Great MacGrady
14. Season 14 : All the Rage - D.W. Unties the Knot - The Long Road Home
15. Season 15 : Fifteen - Buster the Lounge Lizard - Buster's Carpool Catastrophe
    • Interesting season with many episodes being a hit while others were downright bad.
    • Honorable mention- The Butler Did... What?
16. Season 16 : Get Smart - Night of the Tibble - The Last Tough Customer
17. Season 17 : Framed! - Opposites Distract - Molina's Mulligan
18. Season 18 : The Tattletale Frog - The Tardy Tumbler - Shelter from the Storm
    • Honorable mention- Whip. Mix. Blend.
19. Season 19 :
    1. The Last Day (This totally could have served as the Series Finale- very well done)
    2. Mr. Ratburn's Secret Identity (very similar to Arthur's Teacher Trouble, yet still has an excellent story)
