Not Another Vomitrocious Phrase! (Japanese: アーサーは病気取得 Arthur Gets Sick) is the second half of the 3rd episode of Young Arthur and Friends as a part of The All-New Arthur Hour! show. It first aired on September 3, 2017 with Hyper Mega Cat Go!. It is somewhat similar to the first half of the 5th episode of Season 8.

Summary[edit]

Arthur was playing his Bionic Bunny video game with Buster, but he's eating a sandwich and a drinking a soda both. After a game, Arthur suddenly gets sick, runs to the bathroom, and vomits. Buster wants to apologize Arthur for eating such a drink or food and never happened again.

History[edit]

"Not Another Vomitrocious Phrase!" aired with Mario's Once Upon a Christmas in 2017. This makes it the only Arthur short to appear in theaters, and the Super Mario Movie had earned over $103 million at the box office. This is a possible reason why the short is 16 minutes long, longer than a average length of a short but shorter than one of the halves of a half-hour episode. It was later featured on the "Arthur on the Show!" DVD and Blu-Ray releases, before being shown on television.

Trivia[edit]

  • This is the second episode where the barf is seen when Arthur vomits. The first episode with a barf is in D.W., the Picky Eater.
  • If you look at Arthur's face before he vomits, you can see his cheeks bulged.
  • Additionally, Lucas is replaced in Francine's flashback by a random cat that Buster refers to as Arthur.
    • Also, how does Buster not know Arthur if he refers to the old student as "Arthur"?. It is possible Buster was just calling him that in his thoughts because he likes Arthur.
  • When this episode aired, PBS flubbed the ending credits and used the 1998 Klasky-Csupo logo and the SFF, instead of the WGBH Boston and Cookie Jar logos. Today, this episode along with Hyper Mega Cat Go! are using the WGBH Boston and Cookie Jar logos.
  • The first time Arthur had his cheeks bulged.
  • The second time Arthur vomits. First was D.W.'s Imaginary Friend, but he didn't usually vomit offscreen.
  • A picture of Rocky from Flint the Time Detective is visible among the pictures in Mr. Ratburn's classroom.
  • This is the first episode Sakame (humanoid racoon from the ending credts of The All-New Arthur Hour! show) appears outside the ending credits. There, she was a background character.
  • The way Bionic Bunny warps into the the level on the Bionic Bunny video game is similar to the way some of the characters in the Mega Man franchise of video games enter or exit levels.
  • There was a picture of Rocket the Elephant on the one of D.W.'s drawings in the beginning of this episode.
  • The line "I know that!" is a reference to Johnny Test.
  • This episode has become very popular with Youtbe Poops due to several scenes such as, when Buster says "Does this food look gross to you?", and when Arthur says "These foods have no souls.".
  • This was the first ever Arthur episode to be shorter than a double length (22 minutes), but longer than a regular episode (11 minutes), at a length of 16 minutes. It was paired with the episode "Hyper Mega Cat Go!".
  • This episode (along with its episode partner, Hyper Mega Cat Go!) was banned in the Japan due to the "Don't do the alcohol business!" gag involved in the subtitles, which was regarded to as inappropriate for a children's anime. Also, Arthur's vomit was deemed too frightening for younger viewers. After a year of not airing, both episodes finally returned to PBS in Japan in September 2018 for a future airing. In the US, the word "spinach" replaces "alcohol".
  • If Buster is in Arthur's room, then why is there a Mary Moo Cow plush toy in there?
  • Sue Ellen also yelled "Cat Whiskers?!" in Vomitrocious!.
  • First time Arthur holds his breath.
    • Also, the face Arthur makes when he holds his breath became a trend on devaintART and FurAffinity where members would make different characters from different series make the exact same face and let them hold their breaths.
      • However, Arthur's face when he holds his breath looks almost like Jessie from the Pokémon anime when she holds her breath in the episode "Haunter Vs. Kadabra".
