The Kernel was a living ear of corn that used to be in Buster's Food Cabinet. He was the oldest food in the cabinet until Buster's mother threw them all away in "Buster's Green Thumb." Since he is an organic food, it is likely that he was transferred to the compost bin instead. His name is a play on the word colonel.
