Description

In The Secret Life of Dogs and Babies the Reads watch this parody of Rugrats. The name of the show is not revealed. On the show the mean toddler Veronica (based on Angelica Pickles) plans to make the babies eat lima beans. The babies escape from their playpen using a tower of alphabet blocks and a board. Only Buckie (based on Chuckie Finster) is intelligent enough to realize that that the playpen has a door and the key lies inside. The babies escape riding on the dog.

Kate does not like the show because she considers it unrealistic. “If my playpen were that easy to escape from, I’d be in Paris by now. And where are the parents?” She switches the channel to Vidiboobies.

Trivia

  • The second Rugrats movie was called Rugrats in Paris. Hence Kate’s comment about “be[ing] in Paris by now.
  • Pal says that Buckie looks “like a chew toy”. That describes Chuckie’s personality quite well.
  • Kate pointing out the obvious logical flaws of a parody (and by extension the original show) is similar to Arthur and his friends watching the Andy and Company show in The Contest.
