Richard (Shelly in the books[1]) is the husband of Aunt Jessica, and is Arthur, D.W., and Kate's uncle. He is also the father of Cora. He looks like a taller version of his nephew Arthur and wears glasses kinda similar to his.

Richard comes with Jessica and Cora to stay the night with the Reads so he can attend his sister-in-law Lucy's wedding the next day. He and Jessica sleep in Arthur's parents' bed and Arthur's parents sleep on the couch.

The next day Richard is seen shaving in the bathroom and D.W. tries to help him by giving him some more shaving cream but she accidentally squirts it on his pants, making Richard mad and he shoos D.W. out the door.

When the flowers come Richard takes a picture of his daughter Cora wearing her crown, because she's the flower girl for the wedding. Richard is next seen at the wedding still taking pictures of his daughter Cora.

Richard isn't seen throughout the rest of the episode until the end where he, Jessica, and Cora are seen waving good-bye to Lucy and her husband as they leave for their honeymoon.
