Otis is a third grader who made his debut in the episode Arthur's Eyes. Otis is a minor character and is usually seen in the background of many episodes.
In Dancing Fools he is Muffy's dance partner, which didn't the pair didn't do very well thanks to Muffy proclaiming "Crosswires never follow".
Throughout the entire series he has spoken only twice, which took place in Arthur, World's Greatest Gleeper and Dancing Fools. Other then those two episodes he has not spoken and very little is known about him.
Appearance
He is a brown colored bear that wears a cream colored sweater, blue jeans, and red and white shoes. He also has short black hair. In some of his cameos he wears glasses, such as in Dancing Fools. He wears a torquoise colored sweater during the Fall.
Trivia
- Despite being a third Grader, Otis has been seen hanging out with fourth Graders more then other third Graders. He is mostly seen with 4th Grade Male Dog.
- Otis was seen at the Children's Hospital Boston along with his mother in the Arthur's Guide to Children's Hospital Boston website feature, wearing a red sweater over a white shirt, and brown pants.
- In the intro for the show, Otis is seen along with Alex and three other unnamed fourth graders (4th Grade Male Aardvark, 4th Grade Male Dog (Number 2), and 4th Grade Male Rabbit) and the rest of the main characters. There is a chance Otis, Alex, and those three fourth graders were suppose to play some role in the series earlier on, but it either never materialized or may indeed happen in future episodes and seasons.
