Unknown Female Rabbit (Number 3) (mother)

Maria[1] is a third grader who attends Mr. Ratburn's class at Lakewood Elementary School. It is currently unknown if she will ever speak or become a main character in future episodes/seasons.

She is one of the many minor characters in the series, but is one of the few minor characters that is named.

She usually sits with Brain, Fern, and Muffy in class and most likely hangs out with them, along with the other main characters, but is seen with Alex most of the time.

As a matter of fact she and Alex are most likely close friends as what has been seen throughout the episodes. She has a brother named Steve that is seen throughout the series, but unlike her, Steve has spoken before and is a fourth grader on top of that.

Appearance

Maria is a rabbit with a cream complexion. She wears a teal dress and a dark blue and pink striped shirt, along with brown shoes. In the summertime she wears a pink and light blue dress and the same brown shoes as always.

She has brown hair in the form of a Bow cut. For sleeping, Maria wears pink pajamas, as seen in "The World of Tomorrow". In "Desk Wars" she wears a light blue and pink swimsuit while swimming at Muffy's mansion.

She has had two different types of formal clothes. In the episode Bugged she was seen wearing a white shirt, a blue dress, long white socks, and brown shoes. Her other one was worn in the special 'Arthur's Perfect Christmas where she wore a green dress with some red on it, long red socks, and black Mary Jane shoes.

Trivia

  • Maria is sometimes replaced by Unknown Female Rabbit (Number 2) in some episodes.
  • She and Alex are the most recurring of the subtle characters. She and Alex are also friends and are often seen together in many episodes. These two are also the last characters in Mr. Ratburn's class that have not been focused on in the series.
  • In "Arthur Rides the Bandwagon", she had a yellow Woogle. Alex and Fern are seen stretching a yellow one on the playground, despite their Woogles being lime-green and purple, respectively. This could mean that Maria lent hers to them.
  • Despite reappearing the most out of any minor/unnamed character, she has never spoken by herself, and is the only student of Mr. Ratburn's class not to do so. (Although she talked in a group in many times, we cannot tell what her voice sounds like.)
    • In the beginning of "Francine Goes to War," she says something that upsets Francine, although she said it before the scene opened.
    • She got a 'B' for her oral report in "Brain Gets Hooked."
  • She could possibly live next to Grandma Thora's house (evidenced in "Arthur Rides the Bandwagon".)
    • Despite the speculation that she could potentially live near Grandma Thora's house, the inside of Maria's house has been shown, but very briefly during the episode Sue Ellen Moves In where she is talking on the phone with all the other characters about Sue Ellen. The inside of her house most likely her living room or kitchen is shown to be light pink or magenta colored.
  • In "Arthur's Eyes", she is briefly seen wearing glasses. This is either an animation error or she was originally supposed to wear glasses. It is even possible that she still does, but just wears contact lenses instead.

Future Life

We get a brief glimpse into her future in "The Election" when she is seen in a crowd behind President Muffy, if this is actually a vision of the future.

References

  1. Her name is seen on the student of the month chart in "MacFrensky", along with Alex's name. Since Maria is a girl's name, and she is the only unnamed girl in Mr. Ratburn's class, it is safe to say that is her name.
