Grandpa Dave is the grandfather of Arthur, D.W., Kate, and Cora, and the father of Jane Read, Jessica, Lucy, and Fred. Although he's part of the series' main cast, he has rarely appeared since. He is part Scandinavian (likely Swedish) according to Grandpa Dave's Old Country Farm when he said he had a grandfather named Gustaf.
