Arthur's Dad: (to the audience) Oh, hello. Are you looking for Arthur? Arthur? He must be doing his homework.
(Arthur is actually eating cookies in the kitchen)
Arthur's Dad: I'm working on my latest creation. It's bold and risky. No other chef has dared to combine what I've combined. Cinnamon toast souffle! The only problem is getting them out of the toaster. Hm. Like all great inventors, Galileo, the Wright brothers, I'm used to setbacks. I'm also used to my experiments being misunderstood.
(in the Read family kitchen)
Arthur's Dad: For dessert - chunky pudding balls!
Arthur and D.W.: Blech!
(in the living room)
Arthur's Dad: Anyone for cranberry prune crumble?
Arthur: Uh, I don't like broken food.
D.W.: Shouldn't you be encouraging us to snack on vegetables?
Arthur's Mom: Oh, it's delicious.
Kids: Bleggggh!
(Back in David's kitchen)
Arthur's Dad: Oh, well. If da Vinci could deal with it, so can I! Oh, Arthur, you're just in time. I need someone to taste this. Arthur?
