"Bucky" was a fish that is caught by Arthur and David Read in "D.W.'s Deer Friend." When D.W. sees the fish, she cries over its death and David and Jane hold a funeral for it for her sake, where D.W. gives the fish the name "Bucky" and laments that it never got to know her. David reassures D.W. that Bucky has gone to a place better than the lake it was fished out of where it can swim happily.
