Differences from the cartoon
- Jane was wearing the same clothes like she wears in the cartoon and unlike most other books, although her sweater was purple instead of pink, and she had on red sneakers instead of white ones.
- When Mr. Ratburn wears casual clothes, his T-shirt was tucked into his pants in the cartoon; but in this book, his shirt was worn loose.
