User blog:WillTheArthurandBusterFan5050/A Fanfic I Wrote, Feedback and Suggestions Wanted
I also discussed this on Deviant Art https://www.deviantart.com/willm3luvtrains/journal/An-Arthur-Fanfic-I-Wrote-that-needs-help-825027997
A while back I wrote this fanfic on fanfiction.net "Carl in Buster's Room." https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12681768/1/Carl-in-Buster-s-Room I wanted a fanfic where Buster Baxter and Carl Gould were the main characters.
It was inspired by three episodes:
- Opposites Distract https://arthur.fandom.com/wiki/Opposites_Distract
- He Said He Said https://arthur.fandom.com/wiki/He_Said%2C_He_Said
- Carl's Concerto https://arthur.fandom.com/wiki/Carl's_Concerto (at least a little)
When I wrote this, other than having the goal of having two of the rabbit characters be the main characters, I just put this together without giving more thought to it than I should have and now wish I had. When I got reviews, they were less than favorable but they were honest, and they were right, I should have written the fanfic better. Before you're quick to assume my reviewers were mean, and some were just a little, you should read the fanfic yourself and you'll agree with them!
I went back over my fanfic and saw that my reviewers were right and that fanfic could use much improvement, including the title, which I would now like to call it "Carl and the Putrid Bedroom." But I'm also wondering what else to add to it, how to make this story flow better, and perhaps, what to remove from it. I had a good idea for this fanfic, but I stunk at writing it, and even I think this too, I'm agreeing with the reviews I got!
I was too stupid at the time I wrote this, but now I'm waking up and smelling the coffee. Although I don't know if I'll ever do this, I'm thinking of fixing this fanfic. I'll keep the original fanfic but I should try to write a new one.
What are your suggestions for fixing this fanfic? What should I add and what should I remove. Although I'd like to rewrite this/ fix this, I'm just not sure how to right now and if I ever will since I'm not as interested in writing fanfics anymore and don't have the brain power to do so, but I'd like to fix that and I want to try to write a few more fanfics and finish one I had started. I just have writer's block right now.
And my fanfic writing could use some improvement. Wiki user MuppetLover16 even commented this to me: "Have you not read your own fanfics and hear how wrong they sound?" (https://gameideas.fandom.com/wiki/Thread:203191) It's a bit condescending but he's right. My fanfics could be better!
For more of my Arthur fanfics and other fanfics I wrote (and go thorugh my profile page, not the Arthur page) https://www.fanfiction.net/u/5529826/TimmyTurnerFan. I will also be putting my fanfics on Deviant Art. Maybe you'll like some of my other fanfics. I recommend "Hand Over The Key's Brain," https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10437484/1/Hand-Over-the-Keys-Brain, (seems to be my most popular fanfic! "The Pageant Pickle: How it Could Have Gone" https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11565013/1/The-Pageant-Pickle-How-it-Could-Have-Gone "April 9th The Anniversary" https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10257622/1/April-9th-the-Anniversary "Arthur Goes to Golden Corral" https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10606765/1/Arthur-Goes-to-Golden-Corral "Me and D.W." https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10237854/1/Me-and-DW, and "Sad Story About Buster Baxter," https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11324305/1/Sad-Story-about-Buster. Oh and "Something You Don't Expect Mr. Ratburn to Say." https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10594652/1/Something-You-Don-t-Expect-Ratburn-to-Say Although I like the rest of my fanfics, some more than others, you'll just think they're dull! Then again, you might like them (and if you do please let me know! And feel free to share what improvement they could use too.)
Thanks for reading.
