User blog:The Pop Cult Gamer/I Watched Arthur Today For The First Time In Forever

Today, I watched Arthur for the first time in a LONG TIME.

I was at a doctor’s office in the waiting room and there was a little girl who wanted to watch the Disney channel instead of CNN. I was sitting next to the remote and was going through all the channels. The TV only had local channels like PBS. Arthur was on, so I changed it to it which the little girl said “Oh I love Arthur!” The episode was where The Tough Customers (my all-time favorite Arthur characters along with Mr. Ratburn) were hiking and they got lost thanks to Molly.

I have actually have seen the newer seasons episodes where it had The Tough Customers in them. These would be the only times that I would revisit Arthur. I retired from the show itself in 2012. And this may actually revive my interest in the show like how Zootopia revived my interest in Disney.

When I was born in 1994 until 2005. I was a HUGE Disney fan like how I was with Arthur back then. Disney in the 90’s ruled the world with The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, Toy Story, Hunchback of Norte Dame, Hercules, Mulan, A Bug’s Life, Tarzan, etc. I had a whole library of EVERY Disney movie on VHS! But unfortunately, two movies ruined Disney for me and made me stop being a fan. Home on the Range and Chicken Little. The latter was one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. It had the horrendous writing, god awful CGI (that duck girl used to scare me back of the way she was designed), everything about was so god awful. At 11 years old, Disney was destroyed for me. Then came 2016, Zootopia was so good that all was forgiven and Disney won me back as a fan. It looks like Arthur is gonna win back just like Disney now?

Although Disney and Arthur have won me back, unfortunately My Little Pony and Sonic haven’t won me back. My Little Pony jumped the shark and I retired from it. It’s had it’s run and I think it’s actually becoming irrelevant and out-of-style now. I haven’t anyone anywhere talk about it at all! Sonic on the other hand.......oh boy where do I start? The series has fell so hard and far from grace that you wonder why they even keep making them at all? Apparently, Sega does NOT take any care or pride of the series. Instead, they repeatedly release broken and abysmal games. I think they should fire Sonic Team give the series to Nintendo instead. Nintendo rarely makes bad games. In fact, their developers work very, VERY HARD. Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Super Smash Bros., puts his blood and sweat into his games. He actually worked on Smash For Wii U and 3DS despite his calcific tendinitis in his right shoulder. He also mentioned that he is a workaholic who has actually worked during holidays to polish Smash.

Now I am not saying that Sonic Team should be workaholics and not have lives anymore. But they NEED to show they care about their games by making them good. They should delay the games if they have too? Remember you can’t rush art.

I apologize for saying all of this. I am glad that I saw Arthur and it is reviving me again.

Since I mentioned Smash Bros. earlier, I would make a video of The Tough Customers as Mii Fighters team up to beat up Ridley (yes, Ridley is gonna be playable in the new Smash Bros!) And have Mr. Ratburn as a Mii Fighter join forces with Solid Snake (he’s back!)
