Hi welcome to my 3rd blog post. Today I am going to talk about the 2002 special of Arthur which featured the backstreet boys. The episode had a certain theme that really defined the meaning "never judge a book by its cover" The episode starts off with Francine and Muffy watching a music video in Muffys luxurious living room. The backstreet boys are performing their song: I want it that way. When the song ends, Francine criticises pop stars being rich and glamorous. Muffy and Francine have an argument.

The next day in school, Francine puts up posters displaying her upcoming band recruitment. Arthur and Buster are among the auditionees. Both fail, so do the rest except for Mrs Mc Grady, the cafeteria lady who is keen of Francine. Binky also joins the band. He persuades his friend Molly Mc Donald into joining the band. When the band finally have their first rehearsal, Francine explains that it is not a glamour band. As the audition goes on, it is clear the group need a better singer then Francine. Then the next day in school, Binky and Mrs Mc Grady approach Francine and reveal that they might off found a better singer. They present Fern Walters, a quiet, poetry loving young girl. She sings row row row your boat. She impresses Francine and wins her place in the band. As the band goes on, they get the name You Stink! The band are asked to play in the PTA concert. Francine accepts and tells the band to promise not to go over the top with their gig. After the performance, You Stink become popular with kids. They are popular all over town. The gang are chased by a bunch of toddlers asking for autographs.

Meanwhile, Arthur and Buster had established their own band with George Lundgren. Francine and the band are endlessly chased. When the tv crew come for an interview, Francine explains her goal. The band are then asked to play at the library fundraiser. Fern accepts the offer behind Francines back. When Francine finds out, she is furious and quits the band. When Fern and the rest of the group play the gig, Francine is sad. When Muffy is made manager of the band, Francine joins We Stink. Francine being Francine, bosses Arthur and Buster. Then,Francine quits We Stink. The story then goes on showing Muffys crush on the backstreet boys. She is so excited because of their upcoming concert in Elwood City. She sends off a parcel off you stinks music video. She never gets feedback and asks her Dad for advice. Her Dad explains more to her about life. Muffy is not happy and plans to meet the backstreet boys.

On the night of the concert, all members of you stink are attending, including Francine. Muffys Dad is allowed backstage while Muffy is in the middle of her plan. Muffy manages to get on the Same lift as Nick Carter. She purposely stops the lift to Make up as an excuse. The rest of the Backstreet boys are backstage, waiting for Nick. The Backstreet boys need a backup. Muffys dad goes on stage and tells everybody that You Stink will be performing. This command was from Muffy who was stuck in the lift with Nick. The members of You Stink (Including Francine), are awestruck. They get up from their seats. Francine stays still until the rest of the group persuade her to come up with them. Francine accepts and goes along with the rest of the group. They start off shaky until the Backstreet boys come on stage and sing with them. The performance was a success. The crowd were roaring you stink on. Francines opinion on you stink change. The rest of the group want to quit, but Francine attempts to stop them. The gang agree that they will finish you stink.

Francine changed her opinion on the backstreet boys and commented on how they were amazing.
