I just so happened to be watching this flick for the first time yesterday,and WARNING:DO NOT WATCH THIS FILM AFTER THE FIRST 44 MINUTES! The reason why is because apparently GOMER PYLE went to Parris Island instead of Camp Wilson for recruit training,and also apparently was fatter too.So R. Lee Ermey targets him or whatever LONG STORY SHORT:Just watch it but be prepared for the gruesomely inevitable murder suicide at the 45 minute mark
