User blog:Agency/Is Ladonna Compson a Main Character?
I've been wondering for a while if Ladonna Compson is now becoming an actual Main Character in the Arthur series. Even though the community declares Ladonna as a "minor", I disagree. As of now, she has appeared in over 7 episodes on season 16 and has taken roll like an main character on a few. On the next upcoming season, she will be taking more rolls than the previous season.
Now, some of us know a few popular minor characters that are well known for appearances over the entire seasons, such as Alex and Maria, which are considered "minor" because they take small rolls that doesn't involve in talking. But, Ladonna on the other hand is by passing these "minors". Also, I have noticed that the official Arthur website, located at pbskids.org, has removed Prunella Deegan from the Characters navigation bar and replaced her with Ladonna Compson. Does this mean that Ladonna is more significant than Prunella or was there a decision that it needed to make room for Ladonna and remove one of it's characters. If for any reason that you think the last conclusion is true, then tell me why 9story could have just left Prunella and figure out a way to shove Ladonna in the navigation bar?
And to add more on the last paragraph, Prunella is one of Marc Brown's main characters in the Arthur stories. In my opinion, Ladonna doesn't deserve to be on the navigation bar at there website. Also, she hasn't even been mentioned in any of the recent Arthur books. My thought about this is leading me to a conclusion that Marc didn't create her, I'm not definitely sure if he did, it's just a thought.
I'm also researching about Ladonna so I can find out if Marc Brown did actually create her or not. If any of you want to volunteer, go right ahead. I would like this question to be answered any time this year. Like the usual: After reading this ,what do you think about it?
