As an administrator of Arthur Wiki, it has occurred to me that we get many new editors who have never edited a wiki before. They use the visual editor, which often causes more issues, because they have no idea how to use the source mode editor. So I want to rundown a few basic hints that can help you start editing in source text mode. Please note that I will keep adding more techniques to this guide.

Linking[edit]

To link text, you can put two brackets around each end of the page name you want to link to:

[[page you want to link to]]

If you want to link to a page, but don't want that exact wording to show up in the actual text, you can do this:

[[page you want to link to|text you want the link to show]]

If you want to link to a page that isn't on Arthur Wiki, you should use one bracket around the web page's url:

[http://www.example.com/example]

But in most cases, you probably don't want to have the web address present on the page. To do this, inside the two brackets, after the web address, click the space bar and type the text you ant to appear:

[http://www.example.com/example Text you want to show up]

Bolding[edit]

To bold text, put three 's around each end of the text you wish to bold:

Italicizing[edit]

To italicize text, put two 's around each end of the text you wish to italicize:

''italicized text''
