Talk:The Brain

African-American?[edit]

Actually, the Brain is not African-American, and nor are his parents or relatives. They do however celebrate Kwanzaa, but that does not mean they're African-American. And for his mother Mrs. Powers, her pale complexion and natural blonde hair since the second half of Season 2, can prove she is obviously not African-American, but looks rather caucasian. In fact, the Brain and his parents actually sound quite caucasian, and they look more caucasian, and they have always been voiced by caucasian voiceovers. Saying that the Powerses are African-American is actually an opinion, not a fact. --FrancineFan3883, 17:39, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

I think whoever added that got it from "Arthur's Perfect Christmas." At Muffy's party, the Brain gives an example of someone making up a holiday using the phrase "My family celebrates Kwanzaa, a holiday made for African-Americans." But you are right, they may not be African American. --Muppetfan 12:39, August 23, 2010 (UTC)
It's highly unlikely for a caucasian to celebrate Kwanzaa, and some people in Africa actually take offense if it happens. Saying that a character is of certain origins is not an opinion or a fact, it`s a comment. And you do realize that George is Swedish (caucasian) but shown as brown? So Brain's mom having pale FUR shouldn't be relevant to this discussion. But anyways, a recent season 14 episode revealed that he has family in Senegal, so he is indeed African-American. 76.94.78.127 23:09, January 31, 2011 (UTC)
Since Brain's mother is like, caucasian, then isn't it possible that he's mixed race? And if George had a caucasian complexion, his character would not at all make sense with a white or tan complexion, and would blow everything out of proportions.

Also, his cousin Cheik lives in Africa, but is actually caucasion. Not all Africans are black! Take Morocco for example. It is in Africa, but everyone there is Arab.74.108.217.219 18:11, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

Brain's origins seem to be inconsistent at best. If he is African American, he and his family is likely descended from American slaves, and that would likely be a reason to celebrate Kwanzaa, a modern holiday created in 1966 by an African American. But since he was later revealed to have relatives in Senegal, and appears to have at one or both parents as recent immigrants from that country, his reasons for celebrating Kwanzaa become kind of strange...unless his immigrant family just happends to celebrate Kwanzaa. So far as his parent's hair/complexions, there is such thing as lighter skin tones and hair dye now, isn't there?  Snowyeti87 (talk) 21:41, September 25, 2016 (UTC)

Brain's age[edit]

Brain was held back a year so why is he 8. You cant be 8 if you are in the fourth grade; you have to be 9 or 10.
