Dr. Iris is an ophthalmologist and eye doctor, who first appeared in "Arthur's Eyes." She appeared again in "Play it Again, D.W.," at Jane and David Read's high school reunion.

In the book, she had brown fur and no hair on her head, although the cartoon version depicted her with a dark gray complexion and blonde hair.
