"World Girls (episode)" is the TBA episode in the TBA season of Arthur. It is a two-part episode.

Summary

Muffy, Sue Ellen, and Francine go to World Girl World, each with their own goal.

  1. Muffy wants to collect every World Girl doll with every accessory from every country.
  2. Sue Ellen is interested in purchasing an accessory for her one doll, but when it goes out of production, she decides on another solution.
  3. Francine thinks World Girls are a huge scam, but begins to think otherwise when she sees the history and cultures they represent.

Plot

Muffy has become obsessed World Girl dolls. Each doll is dressed in the national costume of a particular country, and comes with accessories related to that country. There is also a book accompanying each doll. Sue Ellen has one World Girl doll, Pema from Tibet. When they discover a World Girl World store is opening, Muffy and Sue Ellen invite Francine to come along with them.

However, nothing really works out. Sue Ellen is interested in purchasing an accessory for her doll, but when it becomes discontinued (including its whole country), she decides on another solution. Francine ends up buying a doll (so she can get the book she came with), and a new "country" is opened every time the girls turn their backs. Later, they discover that the "Doll Hospital" leads to a secret factory where a machine copies each World Girl doll and just changes the outfits, exposing World Girl World as "a scam to sell worthless dolls".

Trivia

  • This is Francine's second doll, her first doll was in "Prunella Gets it Twice".
  • World Girls are a parody of the American Girl dolls.
  • Although there is a Hawaiian doll, Hawaii is not a country.
  • This is one of the 12 episodes Arthur doesn't appear in.
  • Like all episodes of Season 10, this episode included the number '10' hidden in various places. For a list of them, see ARTHUR Season 10 Scavenger Hunt.

Goofs

  • Even though Muffy says she does not even have the Estonian doll, she somehow has the book.
