WildBrain
WildBrain (formerly known as DHX Media Ltd. from its May 2006 founding until September 23, 2019) is a Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada-based media production and distribution company that is the world's largest independent owner of children's and family programming, with more than 13,000 half-hours in their library. Among their titles include Peanuts, Teletubbies, Caillou, and Inspector Gadget. The company operates an animation studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, a distribution and corporate office in Toronto, Ontario, and a consumer products division in New York City, New York, USA.
Over the years, WildBrain has had significant growth through acquisitions. One of their most notable acquisitions happened in October 2012, when the company acquired (and folded) fellow Canadian production and distribution company Cookie Jar Entertainment Inc., which was formerly known as CINAR Productions Inc. from the company's original founding in 1976 until 2004. Cookie Jar had co-produced and animated Arthur from 1996-2003 as CINAR, and from 2004-2011 as Cookie Jar, when production moved in September 2011 to fellow Canadian producer 9 Story Media Group.
As of 2019, WildBrain no longer lists Arthur on their website or distribution catalogue.
