The Secret About Secrets is the second half of the 3rd episode of Season 10. Together with Desert Island Dish, it first aired on May 17, 2006.

Summary

D.W. is jealous because everyone seems to have been told a secret except her. When she learns a secret which could cause her friend, James, real embarrassment if she ever told, she discovers that having a secret isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Plot

D.W. is annoyed that everyone has a secret except her. She soon learns that James split his pants and she says to Emily that she has a secret, but she can't tell anyone. Emily complains that she is D.W's best friend. D.W. is about to tell her, but then she sees James and so she says to Emily that she'll tell her tomorrow. That night though, D.W. has a bad dream that the secret spreads around the pre-school and James is upset. The next morning, she says to mom that she feels sick and so Grandma Thora comes round to teach D.W. how to get rid of secrets. D.W. shouts it into a shell and throws it as far as she can into the sea. The next day at pre-school Emily asks D.W. what her secret is and D.W replies: "I know how to keep a secret". She tells Emily about throwing a shell into the sea.

Trivia

• In the prologue of this episode, D.W.'s family and friends such as Arthur and Buster are shown in a Brady Bunch style.
