Perky in "Arthur's Pet Business"

Perky is Mrs. Woods dog who is the mother of Pal. She first appears in the episode "Arthur's Pet Business." Mr. Higgins the mailman refers to her as Jaws. When her owner Mrs. Woods goes away on vacation Perky stays with Arthur. She acts very grouchy and unfriendly when she comes to stay at Arthur's. Arthur doesn't know what's bothering her and believes that he has wreaked her. When Mrs. Woods comes to get Perky Arthur can't find her but then he finds Perky snuggled up behind the living room chair to which she has given birth to three puppies. She acts very happy when Arthur pets her revealing that the reason she was so grumpy was because she was pregnant and that noone seemed to take any notice about it. As a reward Mrs. Woods gives Arthur one of Perky's puppies to keep which winds up becoming Pal in the end. Perky appears in a flashback in the episode Arthur Writes a Story because Arthur writes a story about how he watched Perky, thought he lost her, and found her and got to keep one of her puppies Pal. In the episode What Scared Sue Ellen Sue Ellen hears something howling in the dead woods and becomes frighten so she and Arthur, Binky, and Buster decide to find out what it is that's scaring them and it turns out to be Perky who was stuck in a tree drunk. Perky is reunited with Mrs. Woods who asks to give Arthur and his friends a kiss for rescuing Perky but this scares the gang away. Perky isn't seen after these episodes.
