Nickelodeon (commonly shortened to Nick) is a media brand owned by Viacom that is known for airing children's shows and films in the United States on their cable network and 85 other countries under the name Nickelodeon Global.[1] The network was launched in Australia in 1995 under ownership of XYZnetworks, under license from Viacom. Nickelodeon Australia aired Arthur around the year 2000 with authorization from WGBH and CINAR. The show also aired on the United Kingdom version of Nickelodeon in their "15 Minutes" block despite UK broadcasting rights also being owned by CBBC at the time.[2]

Seasons aired

Episodes were aired with commercials in mind, thus meaning the removal of the A Word from Us Kids segment found in American PBS airings and home media releases. The 'a' and 'b' parts of the episodes (in explanation, the two individual stories in each episode usually separated by an interstitial) were sometimes aired individually. The bumper that usually played after Arthur episodes in the 1990s and 2000s in American releases that promoted going to a library and visiting the Arthur website is also omitted in Australian airings.
