The Loring Cinema is a local movie cinema located in Southwest Elwood City. It is also the place where Arthur and his friends and many families go to watch movies. In Arthur Makes a Movie, Prunella went to see James Hound (a play on the James Bond series), but Arthur's family and many other families did not let their children under the age of thirteen see that movie. In D.W.'s Very Bad Mood, Arthur, Francine, and D.W. went to see Quazy Kool Kittens: The Journey Home where Lisa's birthday party (whom D.W. was not invited to) were also going to see, but left the cinema after the first few minutes. There are also some episodes where Arthur and his friends go to a Bionic Bunny-related movie.

This cinema was also intended to replace the unnamed cinema from the book Arthur's Valentine that was not shown again in the later books, and Elwood City had a smaller number of buildings in the early books.
