"Kidonia" is the second half of the fifth episode in the seventeenth season of Arthur.

Summary

Tired of doing chores, Arthur and the gang decide to invent their own country: Kidonia. But when there are no rules, no laws, and no chores, someone's bound to ruffle a few feathers. Will this kid-ruled utopia flourish or descend into anarchy?[4]

Plot

Arthur says it's great to have your own country, because you can eat anything, as well as do anything you wanted. He comes and starts to make a speech but asks if it would be a real country if he was the only citizen.

-Kidonia-

Arthur has to help with the yard work and clean his room. When he's done, D.W. stops him and says he has to play with her. Arthur, Brain, Buster, and Francine discuss making countries. Francine says you can't just make a country, but Brain says you can, and thus Kidonia is created!

They make a national flag, rules, and uniforms. The rules are No Rules, No Laws, and No Chores. Buster claims he loves his country and does anything. Arthur disagrees with his dad on cleaning the table, but his mom says he can't have dessert. He reluctantly does so.

Buster says his mom made him dispose of his food cabinet other than Yamlet. He then tries to use Kidonian money to buy groceries and ice cream, but Brain and the clerk get upset. Arthur gets ready for the sleepover, and has a fantasy where they stay up all night. Francine however leaves and resigns her citizenship.

They split their snack (one pretzel), and Arthur gets the fourth piece by mind reading. Soon, Brain resigns his citizenship as well. Ants come up into the treehouse because Buster spilt apple juice, and because Arthur then makes a law where you clean up what you spill, and then Buster resigns his citizenship and Arthur then breaks up Kidonia. Arthur comes back home, where D.W. checks his bags, as she is head of security at the Reads'.
