Garshmalterer was Binky's idea for a new holiday in "The Long, Dull Winter."
He planned to have 24 hours of fireworks starting at the stroke of midnight, but Arthur told him that they can't see them during the day. Binky said it would still be cool not to be able to hear Mr. Ratburn.
After D.W.'s Pony Day idea was published, he added the ideas of lots of soft pretzels and people giving each other free muffins.
